A Plan For the Future

It is the first day of the new year. It seems cliche, but now is the time for some instrospection, as well as a semblance of planning for the future. I write this for myself than for an outsider, a way to keep myself accountable in what will be a tough year.

What Needs To Happen?

I need to work diligently in school. I need to step up my game even more, with the Robotics Build season coming in 4 days.

Robotics is another huge part of this year. I want to ramp up my envolvement and the quality of things I produce. I will be working on Programming as well as Modeling the robot early on in the year.

Recently, I got a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud for Christmas, a gift which I fully intend to use to the best of my ability. I want to improve my skills in design as well as conceptualization dramatically, so I can easily draw out ideas I have.

Most importantly, I need to be a better person. I have struggled with being more open to people this past year, and I wish to rectify that. I also need to control myself more. I often talk a lot about myself and what I have done, not really listening to what others have to say, seeing it as a platform for speaking.

The Necessity of Breaks

Burnout is a very real thing, and it will get even worse in the coming months. I will be going 100 miles an hour in daily life, going to Robotics, School, Extracurriculars, and more. At certain times, the workload felt like too much, and I wasn’t bettering myself, just going from one task to the next, not even really living. I think that I can combat this by taking a day off, probably Sunday or Saturday, a day without technology, schoolwork (unless absolutely necesssary).

For Robotics, this is extremely important. We get a lot of work done in the first week or two, but we stagnate as time goes on, not doing anything in meetings, and other dangerous things. Again, this will most likely be aided by the presence of breaks. I know that we plan to take at least two days off each week, maybe three.

Here’s a quick lightning round of the things that I want to do.

  • Read More Books
  • Read Good Books
  • Continually Update This Website
  • Create More Things (Programmatic and Artistic)
  • Be Cool!

See you in 2019!

Hello! I was born in Knoxville, TN and currently attend the L&N STEM Academy. I have interests in things varying from digital design to programming. I work with the L&N STEMpunks Robotics team to model and program robots.
